Who I am

Hi, I’m Debbie Powers. I grew up on a dairy farm in Ira, VT and know the value of hard work and commitment. I even milked the cows with my dad the morning of my wedding! My mom was a schoolteacher and served in several town offices. My dad served as our town’s fire chief, lister, and in the VT House of Representatives.

My husband Kevin and I live in Waterford and raised 4 children on our farm. Together we built The Powers Agency insurance business in St. Johnsbury. Having the opportunity to work with families and business owners daily has given me valuable insight into the challenges Vermonters face.

I believe in:

• Keeping property taxes affordable for Vermont families

• A Vermont that promotes its agricultural heritage and supports farmers

• A Vermont that manages our natural resources to preserve the traditions of hunters, anglers, trappers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

This is the Vermont where I grew up and the Vermont I will stand for as your Representative in Montpelier to ensure small towns have a voice.
